ESENDOM

Mission

ESENDOM documents Dominican-descended people and the communities they inhabit. We document Dominican-descended people and their communities by blending the human element with technology, thus creating oral histories. We understand that everyone has a history and our goal is to tell the story of all individuals we encounter.

Vision

ESENDOM is a cultural magazine that blends the beauty of Dominican culture with current and past social issues that affect the Dominican community today, examining these areas of concern and putting them into perspective. ESENDOM is a bilingual platform that reaches both English and Spanish readers.

The purpose of this magazine is to create a network of critical information that is to be of use to the Dominican community—whether Dominicans in the Dominican Republic or emigrants abroad. ESENDOM is about the Dominican population, for Dominican-descended people and everyone who is interested in learning about the richness of this beautiful culture.

We are here to embrace and celebrate Dominican culture as well as to create and disseminate as much information possible pertaining to Dominicans. ESENDOM documents moments from major events to those deemed too “miniscule” or “unimportant” by established media outlets. We Pride ourselves in reaching both English and Spanish speakers. ESENDOM serves as an instructional tool that educates people about Dominican culture and records and archives Dominican history.

Although ESENDOM acknowledges that terms such as "Dominican American" and "Dominican diaspora" are problematic/cause of concern, we do understand their inclusion within divergent circles.
